Personality: Considering himself a man before he is a rogue, Emil would describe himself as a kind person in one front, but merciless on the battlefield. Despite his rogue status, Emil is a forward person who simply has questionable talents with an honest heart and a "do good" attitude. Despite the downtrodden status of elven folk, Emil attempts to not let it color his perception of individuals based on race alone. Even so, if he doesn't get the right feeling from someone, he is reluctant to let on more than he might strictly need to, and he doesn't tolerate disrespect very well.

Emil tends to take on random errands here and there, generally gathering ingredients for coin.

In terms of class, Emil tends to prefer the "predictability" of warriors, mercenaries and the like, and has torn feelings about less-scrupulous rogues, and mages in general. That isn't to say that he hates mages. To him, they are simply people who have been given a cursed gift, and their frightening power is something that he would rather not have to fight against. And quite frankly, he finds the tranquil to be more than a little unsettling by comparison. He finds death to be far more charitable than making someone tranquil, not that it's any of his business.

He is uncertain what to make of Qunari; his opinion is mostly neutral.

Despite his attitudes, he tends to prefer not to talk about himself if he can help it.

Appearance: Emil has short, somewhat wavy blond hair that tends to cover the point of his ears. His eyes are a murky mix of dark gray and green, though they look gray at a glance. His body is toned but not overly muscled due to his fighting style. He has a few scars here and there from his travels.

The armor he wears makes him stand out strongly as a dog lord, as it is mostly identical to the ruffians that cause trouble in Kirkwall. The only difference is that his arms are fully covered by long brown gloves and what parts of his legs that would otherwise be exposed are also clothed in similarly-colored pants.

History: A straggler from the blight in Ferelden, Emil took to traveling the continent in roundabout ways to avoid the darkspawn. With his habit of taking on odd jobs: ingredient-gathering, find-my-child-for-me-please, defend my cargo, and other such tasks, he tended to be gifted with information as to which ways he could go to best avoid the Darkspawn, even if it meant needing to trace his steps. Or he simply helped himself along to accompany the ride. In the end, he found himself in Kirkwall: his destination.

Personality: Calla is a very happy Mabari who is likely to default to gentle behaviors rather than rambunctious ones. That isn't to say that she doesn't have such leanings, just that she's unlikely to show them. She often plays rough with Emil, who encourages the behavior. She's intelligent enough to know that Emil and herself playing rough is one thing, but that she had best be gentle with others. She's actually rather spoiled and tends to whine if she's not given as much affection and attention that she wants in a single day.

On the battlefield, she tends to distract foes for Emil to kill - or in the case of a strong enemy, rushes alongside him.

She seems to prefer brightly-colored war paint.

Appearance: Calla is a wild-born Mabari of a slightly mixed breed without docked ears and tail. Rather, her ears are slightly floppy and her tail is only a few inches longer than the trademark stubby tail. The colors of her fur toe the line between brown and black. She has the typical dark muzzle, and her paws are dark, too.
